RELACIÓN ENTRE LA COMUNICACIÓN FAMILIAR Y LA PREVENCIÓN DEL CONSUMO DE DROGAS EN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE CUARTO DE SECUNDARIA DEL COLEGIO SAGRADO CORAZÓN DE JESÚS DEL CUSCO, 2025
    (2026) QUINTANILLA CARDENAS, RUTH
The study aimed to determine the relationship between family communication and drug use prevention among fourth-year high school students at the Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Cusco, 2025. Methodologically, it was a quantitative, basic, correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 150 fourth-year high school students, of whom 26 fourth-year high school students were selected as the sample for the study. Data was collected using a survey and two structured questionnaires: one to measure family communication and the other to assess drug use prevention. The data were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics with descriptive and inferential statistics. The descriptive results showed that 53.8% of the students presented partially favorable family communication and 38.5% favorable communication; likewise, 53.8% showed drug use prevention in the process of consolidation and 38.5% consolidated prevention. In the inferential analysis, transparency was significantly related to drug use prevention (r = 0.845; p < 0.001), as were empathy (r = 0.881; p < 0.001), supportive attitude (r = 0.892; p < 0.001), and positive attitude (r = 0.865; p < 0.001). Finally, it was concluded that there is a very strong and statistically significant positive relationship between family communication and drug use prevention (r = 0.935; p < 0.001), demonstrating that higher levels of family communication are associated with better preventive conditions among students. Therefore, the general research hypothesis was accepted.
